Do you pay a lot to your energy supplier?
Most people don't consider their electrical energy budget.
However, energy waste, especially in high consumption environments like commercial spaces can be as high as the cost of an employee.
It is definitely hard to quantify the amount of energy waste and energy consumption by "eyeballing" it.
And of course reduction in energy consumption is not always possible.
Energy data collection is a must in cases like these, just like smart automation.
Do you know when you spend your energy;
Most energy consuming loads, in residential and commercial space are usually control through an electrical panel.
These include water heaters, electrical ovens, motors, industrial lighting etc.
80% of energy savings may be achievedμπο by focusing in metering and control these kinds of loads.
Why HAM DinSwitch was created
Industrial automation exists for decades now. However, due to cost, complexity and space restrictions, it wasn't accessible to the public and lighter commercial environments.
With HAM DinSwitch we combine energy metering and control, in one-sized rail module, with no central hubs and network configuration.
With such a small size, it fits in almost all electrical panels and the cost is such that it pays itself quickly, especially in environments with loads like water heaters or industrial lighting.
Stop stressing about forgetting something on
With HAM DinSwitch you can control any load that is control via your electrical pane.
You can have real-time control, from anywhere on the planet, with your smartphone, for Android and iOS or computer via web browser.
Set time schedules. Automate based on time and deactivate lights at night, or turn on the water heater before you wake up.
With the timer feature, your water heater can turn off by itself after a set time has passed, no matter if you turned your water heater locally or remotely.
Automate based on daily/weekly energy consumption or based on environmental conditions readings from other devices, such as HAM ThermoSense.
How can I save with Energy Metering?
One of our clients was "convinced" that he was a victim of electricity theft. Within 24 hours from our installation, he realised that he was using the electrical heating excessively. After reducing the heating by speaking to the staff, he was able to save 32%, and payback the energy metering system, in just one month!
Just by knowing about your energy consumption patterns, you can save energy without even having to setup automation or control.
HAM DinSwitch is versatile and allows you to control a different load than the one you are metering (e.g. you can control the water heater while measuring the main switch). Or just do one of the two.
Energy bills don't have enough information, frequency and responsivity to lead you to useful conclusions.
It's easy
Installing our systems is so easy, that it can be installed by any electrician.
The only requirement is a Wi-Fi with Internet connection. HAM DinSwitch connects directly with our Cloud, no central hub required! No port-forward or dynamic DNS.
Combine the 2A output with any power relay to control single-phase, three-phase, big or small loads.
If you want to energy metering and power, combine with any digital energy meter with a pulse output (S0). Both single-phase and three-phase meters are supported.

Frequently Asked Questions
Using our app, where you can view readings, logged data, graph, setup automations and notifications is entirely free forever. We have apps for Android and iOS devices and you can also have full access to the functionality of the apps with your computer through our website (hamsystems.eu). For some optional features, such as phonecall notifications, there is some subscription fee.
HAM DinSwitch is one place wide (just like an MCB). You should also consider the size of accessory devices, i.e. a power relay if you want control and the digital energy meter if you also want to meter energy. For example, a 25A power relay is one-place wide, single-phase meters are one place, three-phase meters are 3-5 places wide, depending on the current.
HAM DinSwitch does not measure by itself. The device has one S0 (pulse) input through which it receives energy pulses based on the energy consumptions from any digital energy meter. Most meters have a pulse output and there are affordable and high-quality options for any current, single-phase or three-phase. HAM DinSwitch supports all these energy metering situations and you just set the pulse per kwh setting in the app. The electrical power is calculated from the energy pulses.
Of course, with a button in the front you can toggle the output without having to use the app. You can also disable these from the settings in the smartphone app.
Every HAM DinSwitch has one energy input and one output. What is controlled and measured depends on the accessories and how they are wired, You can control and meter two different things, input is independent of the output. In residential environments one great use case is controlling the water heater and measure the total energy consumption of the house. It is possible to control many loads at once by wiring them together but you have only one output from the device.
Sure, HAM DinSwitch supports controlling and measuring three-phase and single-phase loads by using the appropriate accessories.
Anything you control from your electrical panel, can be controlled by using HAM DinSwitch with the appropriate power relay.
You can set up to 6 time schedules, that can be repeating periodically or based on the day of the week. There is also a timer feature so the device can turn off automatically after certain amount of time it was turned on either locally or remotely from the app. Time schedules and timer works offline and a Wi-Fi connection is not required after their setup.
In order for the device to be able operate, a Wi-Fi network with internet access is a requirement. In places that there is no Wi-Fi coverage due to the distance from your router, there are cheap ways to extend your network (such as extenders). If there is no Internet connection, then you can use a 3G Wi-Fi router and 3G connection. Monthly usage does not exceed 200MB / device.
Besides installation, you need a smartphone or a tablet (Android or iOS), to configure the Wi-Fi connection of the device.
In case there is an power or internet outage, you can get notified by settings up a rule that checks if the device is disconnected. While there is no internet connection temperature is still logged and uploaded as soon as the internet connection is restored (provided there is still power on the device).
No! Communicating with HAM devices happens with the cloud. You can see readings / control our system in real time from anyplace in the world (including the North Pole with a satellite internet connection)
Data logs are kept in the cloud forever and free of charge! Data logging is done at a variable rate. When there is not substantial change to measurements, data logging is done every few minutes. If there is a substantial change then this is logged immediately.
No Network communications are always through the cloud where permission checks and authentication is done. Devices will not respond in the local network for security reasons. All communications between the cloud and the device are encrypted (on top of the Wi-Fi encryption), so it practically impossible to read data or control devices even if the attacker has access to the network and/or Wi-Fi credentials.
Yes! Every device can be setup to be accessible by more than one user based on the permissions set by the owner/administrator. For example, you can provide WRITE access to your lighting to your employees.
Probably not! We are always on the lookout for new ways to improve and enhance our offerings. We are one of the first companies in the world that offered affordable Wi-Fi based automation and monitoring devices, Facebook bot for control and notifications and had support for Amazon Alexa. If however, there is something that you believe that is missing from our platform and device selection, we gladly welcome your feedback! We value dearly our customers' input.
